“The desire to design and produce jewelry began when I looked very closely at the solitaire setting of my ring. The more I studied the prong setting the more I appreciated its details: the height, support, and the reflective surface beneath the stone. I noticed that the tiniest embellishments like the curved, narrow strip of platinum (seat) encircling the gem just beneath stone’s rim (girdle) had a function while being part of the beauty of the ring.
After earning a certificate in jewelry design, I found that working with silver and gold in my first fabrication class was a reward in itself. Striving to create more innovative earring designs that are wearable and complement the face is my intent and satisfaction.”
